Abstract
The competencies of XXI-century engineering graduates are characterized by a combination of technical, social, ethical, and entrepreneurial skills that reflect the complex and rapidly changing nature of the world in which they will work. They are evolving rapidly, driven by the rapidly changing technological, economic, social, and environmental landscapes. Some of the key competencies that are increasingly important for engineering graduates in the 21st century include technical competencies, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, interdisciplinary competencies, communication and collaboration openness, entrepreneurial skills, ethics, and social responsibility skills, and lifelong learning and adaptability capabilities. Among these, the implementation of the project-based education methods for engineering education and helping the teachers to imbibe new methods of teaching to better fit the needs of the future job market is the project aim.
The presented work is focused on the implementation of the new and already-existing tools that can be used at different levels of project realization at the higher education level. The main advantage of the use of these tools is their universality and transferability – they can serve a purpose not only in short term, but also long term didactic process, supporting the smooth implementation of the technical solutions targeting the needs of the future world.
The presented work focuses on the successful implementation of project-based approaches after different Erasmus+ projects realized at the Lodz University of Technology.
