Micro-module “AI and Consumer Behaviour”: Lessons Learned

Ligita Zailskaitė-Jakštė, Kauno Kolegija Higher Education Institution (Lithuania)

Abstract

This study explores the development, implementation, and piloting results of a four-week micro-module titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Consumer Behaviour”. Students from the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) network were given the opportunity to study in any discipline throughout the 4-week micro-module. Students were required to complete a different assignments each week, such as readings, quizzes, video lectures, discussion boards, and case studies that were examined from both consumer and company perspectives.

For the case studies from the consumer perspective methods application, students were allowed to use AI tools, according to the university rules. Seeking to ensure a smooth self-study process, students had to do one task after another.

The piloting results demonstrated the module's efficacy in enhancing students' engagement, critical thinking, and ability to apply theoretical insights to practical cases. The AI usage in the study process disclosed challenges related to students' redness to use this theology.

This study offers valuable insights for designing a micro-module: from methodology to piloting, that aligns with emerging trends of innovative study processes.
