Abstract
The Humanity has been promoting various values since the dawn of time, and the issue of values taken up by scholars has a centuries-old history. Values are the core of the life of every person, community, and culture. The Platonic triad, or truth, goodness, and beauty, is one of the general and fundamental values. The concept of sustainable development, as its name suggests, concerns development processes that we will be able to control, which will ensure balance, or stability of forces and values in the world. In connection with this, the question arises whether educational organizations need transformation to implement the idea of sustainable development. If so, what intra-organizational factors determine its development? The research is based on an analysis of literature and a synthesis of knowledge in the field of sustainable development theory in education. The article aims to present the concept of sustainable development embedded in education and to describe the framework and areas important for its implementation.
