Education for Cultural Heritage as a Strategy for Sustainable Development: A Future-Oriented Approach

Abstract

The role of education in preserving and promoting cultural heritage is fundamental for sustainable development, fostering both individual identity and collective memory. This paper examines innovative strategies for integrating cultural heritage into modern educational systems, ensuring that future generations value and protect their cultural legacy. By analyzing concrete case studies and reviewing academic literature, this research highlights best practices in educational policies and curriculum design that incorporate cultural heritage as a core component. Special attention is given to the role of digital technology, interactive learning experiences, and institutional collaborations in enhancing the impact of heritage education. The study also explores challenges such as resource limitations, outdated curricula, and infrastructural barriers that hinder the effective integration of cultural heritage in education. The findings suggest that a multi-disciplinary approach, combining technology with traditional learning methods, can create a sustainable educational framework that fosters cultural awareness and identity formation. Ultimately, this research contributes to the ongoing discourse on how education can serve as a strategic tool for cultural preservation and sustainable development.
