Abstract

With the onset of the 21st century, cities have undergone major transformations, incorporating environmentally friendly elements such as sustainable transportation, smart cities, green homes, and ecological parks to enhance the quality of life and well-being of society. The aim of our study is to develop the creative thinking and problem-solving skills of gifted students. While establishing a fair and sustainable social order on a new planet and exploring the fundamental components of society, students are encouraged to use their imagination, laying the foundation for citizenship awareness. In line with this goal, the discovery and planning of a new planetary community were carried out. Active citizenship workshops were organized, and digital citizenship activities were conducted. Art and cultural events were held to support the cultural and social structure. Social service and responsibility projects were implemented. The study focused on environmental and sustainability issues, and efforts were made to strengthen cultural heritage and citizenship consciousness. In addition, a national assembly was established and constitution-making activities were carried out.

The methodology used in this research is a mixed method that combines both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Pre-tests and post-tests related to the study topic were applied, process- and result-oriented activities were carried out using digital tools, and students' opinions were gathered for qualitative research. Before starting the project-related activities, the Creative Thinking Tendency Scale was administered to the participants. The key findings obtained throughout the study showed that students gained a better understanding of the fundamental components of society and increased their digital awareness. Their development of eco-friendly practices and sustainable living models was a significant achievement in terms of environmental awareness. Students recognized their own cultural values and the necessity of preserving them within their new societies. Observations made during the project revealed that students used their creative thinking skills to produce innovative solutions in building a new society and actively participated in this process. Furthermore, they demonstrated critical and analytical thinking skills while generating solutions to both global and local problems.
