Vocational English Learners’ Perspective Toward Language Corpora As Learning Media

Abstract

Language corpora are one of digitally aided tools in EFL context, they promote real examples of language used in various field and context. This research focused on gaining learners’ perceptions during corpora aided learning activities in one of vocational high schools in Karawang Indonesia. The research data were obtained through a questionnaire and an interview employing basic interpretative study as the research design. Based on data of a questionnaire and an interview, the results explained that language corpora provided students with a joyful learning experience with useful examples of language used in real life, another finding revealed that students became more familiar with how particular language patterns and expressions were used by native English speakers. In addition, the research data showed that language corpora motivated students to learn autonomously and promoted inductive learning activities.
