The Future of Education

Madalina Chitez is a Senior Researcher and Scientific Project Manager in Applied Corpus Linguistics at the West University of Timisoara, Romania. She finished her doctoral studies in 2011, with a degree in English Philology, specialisation corpus linguistics, at Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg in Germany. After graduation, for the next seven years, she worked as a researcher at the Department of Applied Linguistics of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. Since June 2017, she has been conducting research in corpus linguistics (academic writing, language teaching, digital humanities) at the West University of Timisoara, Romania, coordinating the ROGER project for a period of five years.

As of October 2019, she is the executive president of the CODHUS research centre (Centre for Corpus Related Digital Approaches to Humanities), which has a strong applicative character. Activities at the new Digital Humanities centre CODHUS aim at creating multidisciplinary synergies between departments, which result in practical solutions for research, teaching, learning or large-scale use: language related digital research methods, software solutions for universities or the pre-university environment (language teaching, translation tools, digital teaching methods in the field of Humanities) and various online resources (web pages, digital guides, databases).
