Giovanna Carugno is a musician, musicologist and music educator.
She is Adjunct Professor of Performing Arts Studies at the University of Parma and Adjunct Professor of Methodology of Music Education at the “Giuseppe Martucci” Conservatory, Salerno.
After graduating in Piano Performance and Harpsichord Performance, she achieved a M.A. in Early Music and a M.A. in Chamber Music from the “Licinio Refice” Conservatory, Frosinone.
She specialized in Music Education at the University of Padua, in Music Therapy at Roma Tre University, in Ancient Greek and Roman Music at the University of Trento and she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Methodology of Research in Music Education from the Accademia Filarmonica of Bologna. She was Lecturer in the Master of Arts Therapies at Roma Tre University, Department of Educational Sciences, and Professor of Music Pedagogy in post-graduate courses for music teachers and educators. She also gave a series of masterclasses and workshops on music history and pedagogy at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. She has presented papers at several international conferences and she carries on researches in early music and music education.
