The Future of Education

Dr. Del Favero is an Associate Professor in the Educational Foundations and Leadership Department in the College of Education and holder of the HAIG/LEQSF REGENTS PROFESSOPSHIP IN EDUCATIOLN I. He is currently serving as coordinator of the EDLD Master Degree Program in Educational Leadership and, as such, has been responsible for significant growth in the numbers of graduates earning M.Ed. degrees in educational leadership. He has been actively involved in the recruitment process. He has made partnership arrangements with local school districts to establish off-campus cohorts. In his classes, he uses his extensive experience as an assistant principal, principal, and executive principal at the middle and high school levels to connect research-based theory with practice. In addition to certification in computer engineering and extensive study in Switzerland and Austria, his educational background includes a BS degree in secondary French, a Master’s degree in French literature, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration, and a Ph.D. degree specializing in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from SUNY Albany. At the post-secondary level, he has taught educational leadership courses at the master and doctoral levels. He has served on several dissertation committees and is currently chairing two dissertation committees.
His latest efforts in publication include the editing and writing of two books dealing with organizational and instructional leadership knowledge and skills for K-12 success. His interests in research include but are not limited to the effect of professional development on student performance and the collection and analysis of academic, demographic, process, and perception data for the purpose of developing “informed” decisions regarding school change.
