Jacques Langevin

Jacques Langevin is Director of the GDA (Groupe DÉFI Accessibilité - Challenging Accessibility Group), a research team specializing in cognitive accessibility and education. GDA brings together 20 researchers, mainly in education and engineering. The team conducts research and innovation in partnership with schools and communities, civic organizations, businesses and other research communities : http://gda-qc.com

He has a PhD in Cognitive Psychology (Université Paris VIII , 1981). He is a professor at the Université de Montréal, Faculty of Educational Sciences.

Jacques Langevin is an expert in cognitive accessibility. At the head of his team, he has conducted research on the foundations of the education of students with intellectual disabilities and the foundations of cognitive accessibility. He has also conducted numerous innovation projects by creating educational products that facilitate access to essential autonomy skills and at the appropriate age for each skill. He is also main designer of the section " AccèsSimple " of the City of Montreal website, which makes municipal information accessible to citizens who have trouble reading :

With his colleague Sylvie Rocque and three parents, he created the " Fonds Émilie-Bordeleau ", a charitable fund that supports research and innovation in the education of students with intellectual disabilities : http://feb.umontreal.ca
