Maria Ampartzaki is a permanent Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education (and is currently in the process of being appointed Associate Professor) at the University of Crete.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (University of Crete, Greece), a Master of Arts in Music Education (University of Reading, UK) and a Doctor of Education Degree (University of Sheffield, UK).
Maria teaches in the Department of Preschool Education at the University of Crete in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervises research at the Doctoral level. She has been involved in numerous funded and non-funded projects and international projects funded by the European Commission as a researcher and/or manager. Maria is also a member of the scientific committee for the peer-reviewing of papers submitted for international Journals and conferences in the field of education. Her most recent projects focus on the implementation of the STEAM approach and the teaching of History in Early Childhood Education.
Maria’s publications are gaining in impact as she gets a growing number of references at an international level. Her most recent publications include (2023) Early Childhood Education – Innovative Approaches in the Post-modern Era, and (2022) Advances in Research in STEM Education.
