Leire Nuere Salgado is, since 2015, the Head of Global Campus Nebrija, the “faculty” of Universidad Nebrija for eLearning and blended Learning programs, as well as she contributes to the definition of academic programs in companies and training centers through new teaching methodologies. Universidad Nebrija is a Spanish University which offers education either to students or corporations, whereas in Spain or worldwide.
Under her direction, the department has achieved two prestigious awards. The first one, in 2015, UNESCO Chair University (on Digital Universities) of Universidad Complutense (Madrid), for its Distance Methodology. The second one, in 2017, for being one of the Top Ten eLearning Blogs in Spain and Latinoamerica.
Leire is Ph.D. cum laude in Digital Marketing in the Tourism sector (Universidad Nebrija, Madrid, 2009). She graduated in Business and Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid in 1999 and 2000.
Since then, she has been teaching for 15 years Internet and e-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Innovation, Mobile Marketing and New Trends, Information Systems for Management, New Technologies in Tourism Promotion, and eLearning Law. She manages both the face-to-face training and the distance learning methodologies. She has taught in Spain, Finland, and Latvia.
In 2006, she was chosen as one of the Best upcoming thesis by Campus de Excelencia – Fundación Vitalia –, in which participated investigators awarded with the Nobel.
In 2016, she was chosen to participate and to be the leader of one of the five groups of the Strategic Plan of Universidad Nebrija 2016-2021.
In 2017, she got the Docentia Award for Academic Excellence, recognizing her as the best teacher of the Social Sciences Faculty.
Leire has directed two doctoral theses (cum laude both), one on e-Merchandising in the Food Industry, and the second one about P2P Business Models in Tourism. She has published papers and book chapters on different issues in the digital area and referring to different sectors. Nowadays, she is focused on Digital Transformation research, including the eLearning area.
Leire has participated as a jury in the Innovation Awards of “Barcelona Innova” in 2016, as far as she is considered an expert in digital innovation. So far, she is involved in every innovation and digital project at Universidad Nebrija and advises several organizations in the definition of their eLearning strategies.
She has developed her professional career in the field of consultancy of new technologies, in the design and implementation of computer applications and web development and digital marketing of the academic offer of Universidad Nebrija.
