Andrea Maragliano

Andrea Maragliano is pedagogist and game designer graduate in Pedagogy, Design and Educational Research at the University of Genoa.

Currently he is a social sciences PhD student in “Migrations and Intercultural Processes” at DISFOR - University of Genoa, where he is studying the relationship between Edu-larp (Educational Live Action Role Playing), empathy and ethnic prejudice.

The other research interests and projects concern gamification processes and transformative effects’ study of games (tabletop, larp, urban games), according to a pedagogical-didactic and Game For Social Change perspective.

Further projects are related to game design and game design consulting; among the latest projects: “Trial with Jury” (Festival della Filosofia 2018), “C.I.B.O” (a board game through food education’s promotion), “Hold The Line” (CRI, 2018) and “Minosia: into the footsteps of a migrant” (Erasmus+ Project - 2019).


Areas of expertise: Educational research design and methodology, game studies, larp & edu larp (Educational Live Action Role Play), role play, games evaluation (urban games, larp, boardgames and videogames) animative training, global education, gamification processes.
