Deborah Scigliano

Deborah is an associate professor in the School of Education at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students in face-to-face settings and online environments. She has taught in basic education prior to moving to higher education.

Her research interests include peer coaching, telementoring, and self-efficacy. She has engaged in the practice of peer coaching at the basic education level and at the higher education level. In addition to writing about peer coaching, she presents workshops about peer coaching internationally, nationally and at the local level.

Deborah is the recipient of the 2018 Duquesne University School of Education’s Excellence in Teaching Award. She also was the co-awardee of the 2010 Creative Teaching Award which was for the telementoring partnership that she and Dr. Erik Garrett designed.
