Lea Ferrari, Phd
She is an associate professor in psychology at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Applied Psychology, University of Padova, Italy. Her research efforts are devoted to the study of variables and processes involved in career construction models to promote work and social inclusion, quality of life and work satisfaction especially in people who experience vulnerable conditions. Attention is devoted to contextual factors with a preventive focus and on the mindset and positive outcomes in practitioners of helping professions. Activities include setting up of instruments, planning and efficacy verification of intervention programs. She teaches Diversity management in the workplace and Psychology of inclusion for people with disability.
Together with Scott Solberg (Boston university) she is actually coordinating the International Research Network on Social and Emotional Competences and Career Development that aims to study similarities and differences across culture and foster SEL skills in educators to make their children ready for the world of work (http://fisppa.psy.unipd.it/overflyng/). She is actually involved in two European projects: CONNECT! (https://connect-erasmus.eu/) that aims to link career counseling with HR practices, and psSMILE (http://smile.emundus.lt/) that aims to promote social emotional competences in primary schools.
She is member of the board of the University Network for Innovation in Guidance Foundation (NICE) from 2017. She serves as editor of the Turkish Journal of Education TURJE for the counseling and guidance field and of the newsletter of the IAAP Counseling Division 16.
Recently she took part in the Erasmus+ Programme Counselling for Refugee and Migrant Integration into the Labour Market – Development of Courses
for Higher Education and Public Employment Services – CminaR from 2016-2019. Specific training activities for career counsellors who worked with refuges and migrants have been carried out in 2019. The program is also part of her actual teaching activities at the university.
She also took part in the NICE Network projects from 2009-2015.
