Christine Best

Christine Best has a Master´s Degree in Ageing Societies and has been working as scientific researcher at sfs, TU Dortmund in the research unit “work politics and health” since 2018. Her main fields of work are social inclusion and education, work place inclusion with artistic methods and health. In her work as a research assistant and later as a researcher she was involved in the Erasmus+ projects JobAct Europe - Social Inclusion by Social Arts, ARTE - The Art of Employability and ViSAS - Virtual Social Art Stage. Through this work, she was able to gain some experience in the acquisition, planning and management of international projects with several partners, including other universities, social enterprises and organizations and research centres.

Also she is a tutor for the course “Cooperation and Network Management” at Apollon University for Healthcare Management and is member of the DFFW (Dortmunder Forum Frau und Wirtschaft e.V. – Women and Business Forum of the City Dortmund). She is also involved in feminist organizations working for gender equality.

After living in Santiago de Chile from 2011 to 2012 and doing voluntary work with disabled children and therapeutic riding, she returned to Germany and started her studies. During her Bachelor Studies she worked in nursing care at hospitals and nursing homes and in the catering sector also. After finishing her Bachelor Studies in 2016 in Gerontology at the University of Vechta, she went abroad again and lived in the US, California, for three months.

Christine began her Master Studies Ageing Societies at TU Dortmund university in 2016. During two years from 2016 to 2018 and before starting to work at Sozialforschungsstelle, she was a student assistant at a Research Institute for Housing, Real Estate, Urban and Regional Development in Bochum, Germany. In 2019 she graduated with her Master´s degree. She wrote her Master's thesis on knowledge transfer in works councils. Her master's thesis was awarded the AgeXP Award, an education and career initiative that seeks answers to pressing issues in demographic change.

Areas of expertise: Adult education, education with artistic approaches, social inclusion, transnational cooperation, network and cooperation management, international project planning and management, assessment and evaluation, knowledge transfer, demographic change.
