Azalea Aventajado Gallano is a Filipino educator. She is a DepEd Lucena City personnel who worked as a Master Teacher in Mathematics before transferring to the Schools Division Office as a Senior Education Program Specialist – Planning and Research. She took up mathematics courses for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She ranked second in the Philippine 2004 Licensure Examination for Teachers (Secondary Level). She graduated as summa cum laude in 2004. Having been a high school mathematics teacher for eleven years in a public school and a master teacher for three years molded her to understand the indispensable role of a teacher in the development of the mathematical literacy of the learners. Moreover, six years of being the division research management focal person provided her opportunities to extend technical assistance to fellow teacher-researchers in developing and utilizing research-based practices in the improvement of the teaching and learning performances as well as of the management and implementation of DepEd programs and projects in the division. She served as a resource speaker on teaching math and conducting education research.
At present, she is taking up Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education at the University of the Philippines Open University.
