Akinori YAMABE is a project assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo.
He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Liberal Arts from the Department of Comparative Culture at International Christian University in Japan.
Currently he teaches Science Communication at the undergraduate and graduate school in the university. He set a high value on using of the methods of Active Learning, Problem/Project Based Learning, and Interprofessional Work.
His major research interests are the education of STS which deal with Ethical Legal and Social Problems with the advance of science and technology, plus, currently are in the area of MOOC and those applying to the future society. He is a PI in one of the projects by research fund of Japanese government.
He is also a member in the conference reforming the educational system of the Liberal Arts with adequate to the New Era in the University.
