Dorota Zdybel graduated in Pedagogy - Social Work and Elementary Education from the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska in Lublin, Poland in 1991. Completed the post-diploma studies in Montessori education organized by Hogeschool Gelderland in Arnhem, Holland. Dorota finished a few international internships: 1996/1997 in Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, USA (one year internship of doing research for doctoral dissertation), 2003 in Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center in Haifa, Israel (Bilingualism and multilingualism in early childhood education).
In 1999 Dorota got the PhD diploma at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin. Her dissertation title was: „Montessori School as a context for development of communicative competence in seven and nine years old children”. Dorota is also a member of Montessori Europe Research Working Group: https://www.montessori-europe.net/

Dorota worked as an expert and coordinator in several European projects: „European Primary Teacher Education” LLP Erasmus Curriculum Development; „Stronger children – Less violence 2”; „Kitchen Lab for Kids”, and currently "Kids Lab for Sustainability” (grant number 2018-1-PL01-KA201-050857): https://kidslab4sustainability.eu/

Currently, Dorota works as Assistant Professor and researcher at Ignatianum University in Cracow, Poland. She is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal „Elementary Education in Theory and Practice”: https://czasopisma.ignatianum.edu.pl/eetp
Her research areas of interest are: metacognitive development of young learners; the development of the conceptions of mind, knowledge and learning; language creativity in children and ECEC teachers’ professional development. Dorota is an author of over 70 scientific publications. The most recent are:
