Abstract

Human existence in a communication age cannot do without Information and Communication Technology. Art Education is the repository of our cultural heritage.  And in this regard, Art Education, as a segment of the great education sector, has a lot to benefit from the new frontiers and avenues created and opened by the Information and Communication Technology.  Such frontiers and avenues like websites packages, e-mails and video conferences have permitted cultural exchanges, easy flow and unhindered access to information. The teaching/learning process has been made easy by the Information and Communication Technology and the students of French as a foreign language can now explore fully the possibilities of autonomous learning through the Internet.  The teachers are not left behind by the Information and Communication Technology.  They only need to make the best use of the Internet to remain relevant in their profession, as ICT has come to stay and can only get better. The primary aim of our paper is to lay emphases on the need for the effective use of the internet by both teachers and learners of foreign languages, using French here as a case study.
