Evaluation Of Translation: A Study Of Simpson’s Model Of Stylistic Analysis

Abstract
The study of style in the process of translation is one of the emerging areas in the field of Translation Studies (TS). In the present paper the model of Paul Simpson will be discussed to highlight the various issues which bring different changes in the Target Language. For analysis the effects, two texts have been chosen. The Source Language (SL) has been selected as select stories of Saadat Hasan Manto and for the Target Language Text (TLT) , translated version of the same which has been translated by Matt Reeck and Aftab Ahmad is selected. How to express emotions and other literary devises through translation and the impact of the same in the teaching English as Foriegn Langauge will be studied in this paper. Sound System, semantics narrative ideology and readers’ and the translators’ cognitive models will be studied under six subheads and the use of “SLT-to-TLT” approach in teaching English as Foreign Language will remain central idea of the paper.
