Abstract

In today’s digitalized world, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are regarded as a critical milestone in the field of education. Indeed, The ICTs have achieved a laudable outcome with the learning path .Recent literature has proved that the use of ICTs in the English language teaching and learning has a lot to offer to both learners and teachers in the sense that a classical teacher centered approach has today become a student centered one where students learning possibilities increased along with their computer skills, thus their learning process can be enhanced through communication tools towards autonomy and agency. Accordingly, the involvement of technology in pedagogy has revolutionized the learning process allowing any space to be a learning space , the CBA ( Competency Based Approach) is an example to be mentioned here as , through its exposure on the use of ICTs , knowledge has become effortlessly distributed anywhere and learning has been interactively generated through real world situations. The relevance of the TICS to the development of the four skills will be further questioned. A variety of multimedia listening instruments such as digital stories, Mp3 recordings or podcasts will be highlighted. The creation of a Web-based reading program called “English Reading Online” will be also discussed. Vocabulary learning and speaking pattern using the CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) are last integrated. This paper reviews the extent to which the integration of ICTs in pedagogy will raise a more interactive communicative classroom.
