Abstract

Extended Reality (ER) has meant a radical change in teaching. The use of advanced technology and the integration of ER applications into the teaching-learning process facilitates the acquisition of content, skills and competences (Parmaxi & Demetriou, 2020).  The aim of this paper is to share our experience as teachers and developers of technology-based learning resources with the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) applications for language teaching at the University of Cadiz. We present the results of a case study that was carried out during the academic year 2022-23 with students of German language at the A1 level (CEFR). The design of an evaluation questionnaire, based on Davis' Technology Acceptance Model (1989), allowed us to obtain the necessary information to assess the motivational potential of the developed application. The results of the study suggest, on the one hand, the enormous potential of the tool to create motivating and dynamic materials that facilitate learning. And on the other hand, the challenges we face as teachers without programming skills in designing and implementing advanced technologies such as AR in our classrooms (Valero & Berns, 2023).
