Abstract
The Audio-lingual method is currently considered as one of the most efficient methods in foreign language acquisition. In this paper we will analyze the relatively belated application (considering the influence of the former socialistic method) of the Audio-lingual method in the Macedonian applied linguistics. At the same time, there are several ways of Audio-lingual method application: work with teacher (the pronunciation of the teacher is especially important), reading and listening of texts, repetition of language constructions that the student firstly acquired by listening, paraphrasing of expressions after given examples, completing expressions of partially written sentences etc. Audio books (novels of up to 200 pages) are considered a coronation of the application of Audio-lingual method, beginning with levels B1 and B2. The importance of the Audio-lingual method is even greater in independent learning of Macedonian as a foreign language. However, it cannot be disregarded that the success of this method is dependent of many factors. Those are the proper selection of material intended for listening, the type of intelligence that the student has etc. We will apply the Audio-lingual method on the group of students that study Macedonian as a foreign language.
