Abstract
This systematic review examines the impact of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies in education. The study examines the impact of these immersive technologies on learning outcomes, engagement, motivation, and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. An extensive search of the research database yielded a total of 30 related articles published between 2010 and 2021. The results of this review show that VR and AR technologies have a positive impact. impact on student learning, with better knowledge retention, increased engagement, and increased motivation. The use of VR and AR in various subjects, such as science, math, and history, has demonstrated significant benefits in terms of content comprehension and concept learning. In addition, the assessment emphasizes the importance of appropriate instructional design and integration strategies to maximize the potential of these technologies in educational settings. However, several challenges and limitations, including cost, technical requirements, and accessibility of appropriate hardware and software were identified. Future research should focus on investigating the long-term effects of VR and AR technologies, exploring effective teaching methods, and addressing barriers to widespread implementation in educational settings.
