Abstract

AI-driven chatbots have revolutionized human-computer interaction by simulating realistic conversations and taking on various tasks, reshaping traditional problem-solving and communication approaches. These advances, driven by innovations in natural language processing (NLP), allow chatbots to understand and effectively respond to user queries, increasing the range and relevance of human-computer interactions. This study examines the transformative role of AI-driven chatbots in language learning, particularly in improving second-language speaking. By facilitating natural and contextualized conversations, these chatbots significantly improve learners’ oral proficiency and confidence in using a second language. Through empirical research and case studies, this review highlights the effectiveness of AI chatbots in creating immersive and supportive learning environments tailored to different learning styles and proficiency levels. Ultimately, integrating AI chatbots into language classrooms promises to redefine educational practices and optimize language learning outcomes across global educational environments.
