Abstract
Social media has become an integral part of daily life, transcending generational boundaries and reshaping how we access and consume information. It provides a unique opportunity to make language learning more accessible and enjoyable for learners of all ages. Its presence in our daily routines allows seamless integration into everyday activities, making language acquisition a more natural process. By leveraging these platforms, educators can introduce linguistic concepts and cultural nuances in a manner that resonates better with learners. This paper explores the role of social media in language learning, drawing on practical insights from our experience teaching Serbian, English, and German at our online language school. We aim to demonstrate how platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and others can be effectively integrated into language learning curricula, offering dynamic, engaging, and culturally rich learning experiences. The focus will be on how these tools can blend grammar instruction with cultural education. We will explore the pedagogical benefits of using visual and interactive content, community-driven learning, and real-time engagement that social media platforms offer. Additionally, we will discuss the challenges and limitations associated with these methods, offering solutions and best practices to maximize their effectiveness.
