A Study that Examines the Education of İtalian Language and Literature in Türkiye, as well as Language Policy between Türkiye and Italy

Abstract

This study provides an in-depth analysis of Italian language and literature education in Türkiye, as well as language policies between Türkiye and Italy. The topic of discussion is the general situation, prevalence, and accessibility of Italian education in Türkiye, as well as the effects of Italian language and literature on Turkish culture and mutual language policies. The article's focus is on the future of language policies and suggestions, with the detailed analysis of cultural interaction, language ties, and literary relations. Steps and policy recommendations are provided to enhance cultural exchange and language teaching between Türkiye and Italy, with promising suggestions to further deepen the rich connections in language and literature. This article aims to contribute to the further development of cultural interaction and language policies by emphasizing the importance of language ties between the two countries. Furthermore, it gives general information on teaching Turkish as a foreign language in Italy and Turkology studies. At the same time, this department embraces a perspective on culture and art through critical reading studies. Language education and studies conducted in this field are significant factors that strengthen the bond between the two countries in every sense. The teaching of Italian in Türkiye has made significant progress in recent years. Language learning, literary works analysis, and cultural interaction are generally covered by Italian language and literature departments at universities. Language courses and Italian courses are both offered in various educational institutions. An increase in the field of learning and teaching Italian is also a result of the development of cultural and economic relations between Türkiye and Italy. The importance of individuals who speak Italian is increasing, especially in the fields of tourism, trade and academic cooperation.
