Abstract

This article explores how AI-driven tools and platforms are transforming language learning, shifting from traditional methods to more dynamic approaches. Artificial Intelligence is one of the most influential inventions of the 21st century, acting as a powerful instrument that helps learners by offering adaptive tools tailored to individual needs, while providing interactive and engaging ways to acquire a new language.

In a world increasingly shaped by technological advancements, effective communication can still be a challenge, especially for those trying to learn a new language. This issue has become a global problem. So, why not use the very advancements in technology to address this challenge? Specifically, we propose leveraging AI to tackle the difficulties of language learning. To test our hypothesis, we conducted a survey using quantitative methods to analyze responses. Based on the results, we concluded that the participants , who are mostly 16-30 year old university students in Bishkek, experienced improvements in fluency, pronunciation, and confidence when using AI-powered language learning tools. The feedback revealed that these platforms enhanced communication skills and offered personalized, effective support.

Several AI-based applications for language learning exist, such as Duolingo, Fully Fluent, Babbel, Memrise, and others. One of the member of our team had the experience using Fully Fluent for improving speaking and listening skills. This app functions like a virtual conversation partner, listening and responding to maintain a dialogue. After six months of use, a significant improvement in communication skills was observed. These findings suggest that AI tools can effectively complement traditional language learning methods and improve overall speaking and comprehension abilities.
