Abstract
In the age of post-modern ideas where the basic foundations of History are already shaken to the point of oblivion. The very existence of post-Truth is impending the process of teaching History. Freud in his famous ‘Screen Memories’ showed us that the very existence of the event is always subservient to the discourse.[1] Thus, by following Lacan, Derrida and Levi Strauss, in this paper an attempt has been made to focus on the learning of Language in order to understand History and impart the knowledge of History.[2] The AI tools and the Master Algorithm that the new technologies are aspiring to, can have serious implications towards the dissemination of History. The first apparent problem is the how History is taught in our times is by nature situational and ideologically motivated. But chat bots always, by trying to show their neutrality, will answer any critical question of History with various interpretations available to it, without holding a position. Therefore, a problem emerges in the pedagogy of History, a problem that is the very heart of History – distortion. From another point of view the question can also be reversed, how far are the AI tools holding a neutral position? When the dissolution of the real is the very foundation of our Post-modern times How far is possible for us to teach or study History. But when all the disciplines are afraid of the post-modernist intervention, the study of language or the study of our socio-linguistic order can help in our Historical endeavors.[3] Thus, through my paper I have attempted to understand the implications that Language learning can have for Historical studies.
