Viviane Grisez graduated from the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation of the University of Mons, Belgium, where she studied translation techniques in French, English, German and Dutch. As a postgraduate in Language Didactics, she taught English and Dutch at the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons (Faculty of Engineering- University of Mons) for more than 30 years. From 1986 to 2011, she was the Head of the Language Department of the Faculty of Engineering.
In 2011, she was appointed Director of the UMONS Centre for Modern Languages. As part of the University’s commitment to internationalising studies, she is in charge of organising language courses (French, English, Dutch, Spanish and German) for the UMONS students and staff.
Besides her passion for bilingualism and intercultural aspects of language, she has been involved in many European language projects (INTERREG, LLP) in the field of e-learning (text-to-speech technologies, online course content development).
