Luisa Panichi is a Foreign Language Lecturer at Pisa University, Italy. She is co-cordinator of the Euroversity Network for virtual world education co-funded under the LLP of the EACEA for the Department of Modern Languages at Hull University, UK.
Luisa Panichi holds a BA (Monash, Australia) and is a Dottore in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Pisa, Italy).
She has taught languages at tertiary level for 20 years and has been involved in online language education since 2007. She has published in the field of Learner Autonomy, Language Awareness and Computer Mediated Communication and CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) and is the co-author of a text book for Business English. She was local project leader for the EU co-funded project AVALON for language learning in virtual worlds from 2009 to 2010.
Luisa holds a full-time PhD by research position as a distance student in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Hull, UK. Her area of investigation is Learner Participation in language learning in virtual worlds.
She is also active in the international conference circuit and has been invited on several occasions to talk about the use of virtual worlds in language education in workshops and conferences around Europe.
