M. Victoria Domínguez-Rodríguez, MA, PhD, is Lecturer of English for Specific Purposes at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). She has published on glosses and annotations to 15th-to-17th medical texts; the classical tradition and influence on medieval and early Modern English scientific texts; and anatomical terminology from a diachronic point of view. However, at present, her research interests are more focused on two aspects: the role of paratextual elements in 17th- and 18th-century general-purpose English dictionaries, and how these shaped the genre, on the one hand, and the teaching of English as a foreign/second language in present-day classrooms and virtual environments, on the other.
