Maria Kathrina Bautista Diaz is currently working as an English teacher at British Council Taipei, Taiwan and an English Lecturer in various universities in Taiwan for over three years. She has Masters degree in Applied Linguistics and a certificate holder of the TYLEC or Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate by London Trinity College. During her early years of teaching, she taught in the prestigious universities in the Philippines like De La Salle University and University of Santo Tomas. After seven years as an English Lecturer, Kathrina decided it was time for a change of scenery ( and weather) and moved to four-seasoned Taiwan where she is offered an outstanding scholarship grant to pursue MA degree in Language Studies and a teaching job as a university English lecturer. This opportunity allowed her to gain first hand teaching experience with her target learners-the EFL students. In fact, she works seven days a week in various language institutions around Taiwan and has kept the passion for research writing. Also, her dedication to language teaching and research has inspired her to take another Masters in Applied Linguistics and has been currently granted a full-time scholarship by the Kainan University in Taiwan. Her fields of interests include computer-assisted language learning, bilingual education, discourse analysis and pragmatics.
