Dr. M. Elvira Luna Escudero-Alie holds a PhD, in Iberian-American Literature and Culture, from Georgetown University (minor in Applied Linguistics), and

She teaches in both formats: F2F and DL French & Spanish courses at Montgomery College, Takoma Park-Silver Spring Campus, since 2007. Dr. Luna Escudero-Alie published over 47 academic articles, including 10 interdisciplinary articles co-authored with MC Mathematics full-professor Stephen Kcenich. They are also co-authoring a book about Borges and Mathematics.

She was nominated by Howard University students for a national excellence in teaching award, 2006, and got a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching: in Recognition for Excellence in Teaching during the academic year 2001-2002.
