Innovation in Language Learning

Handan Çelik is teaching at Trakya University as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Instructor for about 7 years. Having graduated from the English language teacher education program from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Education Faculty in 2007, she started teaching at another state university in Turkey. She got her MA degree from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2011. During her MA thesis, she visited University of Missouri-Kansas City as a research scholar on a scholarship awarded by the Higher Education Council in Turkey. She started her PhD in 2012 in English language teaching and is going to receive her Doctorate degree in January 2017. Being actively involved in different research studies, she has published in national and international peer-reviewed journals on various issues in English language teaching and also English language teacher education. Besides, she has also presented in various international conferences. With a main interest on language teacher education and professional development, her current research includes pre-service English language teachers’ preparation and their preparedness to teach. she has also been interested in language teacher program evaluation and teaching English for specific purposes.
