Innovation in Language Learning

Chiara is an ESOL teacher and a PhD candidate in Language Education and MA Tutor at the University of Leeds. She is investigating the beliefs and practices of learners and teachers about listening in English as a foreign language. She also teaches IELTS preparation to refugees and asylum-seekers at a Leeds-based charity.
Chiara has taught EFL and EAP in the UK, Italy and Spain. She holds a BA in Interpreting and Translation, an MA TESOL and Translation and a DELTA M1. Her main research interests are EFL listening, teacher cognition, English as a Lingua Franca and ESOL.
