Innovation in Language Learning

Dr. Ying Amatya is a department chair at Defense Language Institute (DLI), the largest language college in the world. Dr. Amatya holds a master's degree in Second Language Education from Utah State University, and is a doctoral degree from Brandman University. Dr. Amatya has been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for over 18 years since she graduated from prestigious Nanjing University in China. She has been actively involved in researches in the field of second language education, and has presented over 20 papers at various conferences in the States. Besides teaching, she also worked as an immersion language specialist coordinating study abroad programs for military language trainees at DLI.
