Debbie Lahav

Debbie Lahav has been teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) at Ruppin Academic College (Israel) since 2007. She is an active member of the faculty, developing materials and working with new teachers. Debbie is also a member of the national subcommittee for the development of the English Curriculum 2020 for the public-school systems in Israel.
For over 30 years, Debbie has taught EFL to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of formal and informal educational frameworks. She has participated in several projects under the auspices of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem that have for at-risk populations both in Israel and abroad (Australia). From 2007-2014, she headed a project which installed technology supported English learning centers in ten schools around Israel. The project was accompanied with intensive in-service teacher training for the English teachers in the participating schools. From 1999-2005, she was the head writer for the English Online (CET) on EFL book series for junior and high school students.
Debbie holds an MA degree from Haifa University from the Department of English Language and Linguistics, with a specialization in second language acquisition. Her research focused on the effect of the type of output and context for the acquisition of new vocabulary items. Over the years, Debbie has presented and participated at international conferences and published several articles.
