Damiano Longo is a foreign language teacher at CPIA Lecce with a specific expertise in Italian Second Language Acquisition.
He graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Salento in 2000. In 2005 he spent a quarter at Ohio University in Columbus (USA) by getting a course in second language teaching and learning for Phd students and he observed Italian classes by using the Action Research methodology. After getting the qualification and license in teaching at University of Salento in English teaching and at University Ca’ Foscari in Venice in Italian Second language teaching , in 2016 he passed two national open competitive exams in English Language and Literature teaching and in Italian for international students.
Damiano Longo is an expert in Italian Language teaching for immigrants. In this field he received different certificates and diplomas.
So far Damiano Longo has been involved as instructor in various projects funded by the European Commission in the area of school education for young learners and adults and collaborated with the Indire, an organization of the Italian Ministry for Education. He also worked for the Linguistic Centre at the University of Salento for the project “Italian School for International Students” and taught English as Specific Language in Masters and Post Graduate Courses.
He is the author of 14 papers including journals and proceedings of scientific conferences. He participated as speaker at previous editions of the “Innovation in Language Learning”.
