Flora Sisti is the Rector’s delegate for Teaching Innovation and Students and Director of CISDEL (Centro Integrato Servizi Didattici ed E-learning / Integrated Centre for Didactics and E-Learning) at the University of Urbino where she teaches Modern language teaching methodology and Intercultural communication as Full Professor.

Flora graduated with high distinction in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Urbino with the final dissertation " The maze in G. K. Chesterton’s works". Since then she specialized in linguistics and studied at the Polytechnic of Central London (PCL) and at the University of Southampton in Great Britain, obtaining the following diplomas: In 1986 - Diploma from the Advanced Studies School in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature (specialization in Linguistics) University of Urbino - Faculty of Education; in 1987 - Professional teaching qualifications for English Language & Culture Teaching ( Higher Secondary School) and English Language Teaching (Lower Secondary School).

At the University of Urbino Flora is President of the Tutoring and Didactic Innovation Committee , Head of the Master ICLILBA "English and CLIL methodology for young learners”; Chief Organizer for Internships of the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures;
School of Foreign Languages and Literatures Deputy in the “E-Learning” University Committee;
She was Department of International Studies Advisory Committee member; Founding member of C.I.R.T.A.( “Interdepartmental Centre for Applied Transcultural Research); School of Foreign Languages and Literatures Deputy in the “Teacher Training” (TFA) University Committee; - President of the Bachelor’s Degree “Foreign Languages and Cultures”; President of the Faculty Tutoring and Counseling Committee; President of the Faculty Committee for Foreign Languages; Head of the Post-doc. course in “Foreign Language Didactics with CLIL” (Content and language integrated learning); Head of the National Research Project: CLIL - CS (Foreign Language Learning & Computer Science): “The usage of English Language in Online College Education”; Member of the Governing Board of the University of Urbino.

Flora Sisti is member of two national university research teams studying CLIL methodology and Italian mediated instruction and scientific committee member of the Italian Journal “Rassegna Italiana di Linguistica Applicata (R.I.L.A.)” – Bulzoni Publishing ; Didattica generale e disciplinare, edited by B. Martini, E. Nigris; Franco Angeli Publishing, and peer-reviewer for several Journals:

She has held seminars, courses and conferences in many countries and has published more than 60 scientific publications on a range of topics including: CLIL, English Teaching Methodology for Young Learners, Drama in EFL Teaching, E-learning and ICT in EFL Teaching.

Areas of expertise:. Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), English Teaching Methodology for Young Learners, E-learning and New Technology in EFL Teaching, Dramatization and Theatre in EFL Teaching, European Language Portfolio in Early Childhood Education, English for Special Purposes (ESP).
