Elizabeth Heather Mugan (BA Hons) is the founder and headteacher of The World's Your Oyster Language Training Centre in Bologna, Italy (T.W.Y.O.).
Elizabeth graduated at the Open University in Language Studies (English, Spanish and French).
She has been working in the field of language teaching, language study trips,
interpreting and translating for the last 30 years.
Elizabeth creates English programmes, materials and tests for her own language centre, for state schools from infant to secondary school level and English for Special Purposes (Engineering, Architecture, Business and Hotel front office).
Elizabeth is a teacher trainer for ADI (Italian Teachers and headteachers' Association) and the Emilia-Romagna local group co-ordinator for TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Elizabeth has a classical approach to teaching, but has also created and employs a hands-on, experientially-based methodology for teaching English called English in Motion ("E.I.M.").
Areas of Interest and research: new methodologies for language teaching and reconnecting with nature through language learning. Furthermore, having had the opportunity to travel widely with her family from infancy and frequent schools in the Middle East and Africa she has developed a strong interest for interreligious studies, international education, culture and collaboration.
Elizabeth belongs to the following professional associations: ADI, LEND, MCE,TEFL and IATEFL.
