Ulla Fürstenberg

Ulla Fürstenberg is a senior lecturer at the English department at the University of Graz, Austria. She teaches English languages classes with a special focus on grammar and writing as well as courses in the didactics and methodology of English Language Teaching (ELT). She is also a teacher trainer for teachers at the secondary and tertiary levels of education.
After graduating from the University of Graz with a PhD in English Literature, Ulla went on to work in adult education as the manager of a language center for several years. During this time, she also taught English for Specific Purposes (ESP) at the Department of Social Work of the University of Applied Sciences Joanneum and lectured on teaching English to adult learners at Graz University, where she became a staff member in 2010. She is now a Senior Lecturer and one of the ERASMUS coordinators in the English Department.
Ulla is particularly interested in Teacher Language Awareness (TLA) and is currently running a project for novice ELT teachers called LEAP Interface – Living English Awareness for Professionals. She is also involved in researching the integration of content and language in higher education (ICLHE).
