Innovation in Language Learning

Alena Štulajterová is an assistant professor and the head of Department of English and American Studies, Faculty of Arts, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. For the last 23 years she has been involved in pre- and in- service teacher training and in the preparation of future translators and interpreters from/into English. She specialises in English linguistics, stylistics, and the methodology of teaching translation. Her current teaching and lecturing is focused on general linguistics, discourse analysis, academic writing and developing global skills. She is a coordinator and supervisor of external study programmes focused on translating and interpreting and study program of further education focused on the preparation of future teachers of English. She has participated in several successful scientific and educational projects, currently it is a project focused on developing global skill in EL teaching. She has written a number of articles and published several scientific monographs and university textbooks in areas linguistics, stylistics and discourse analysis.
