University Competitiveness Through Developing and Applying Educational Innovations

Abstract

Despite the wide spread and topicality of innovation, there is still a lack of clarity and systematization on how educational innovations bring competitiveness to universities. Although innovation is located within the center of the most countries’ priorities, educational innovations are still not linked to important concepts such as competitiveness.
The report presents the research results on the factors that bring competitiveness to universities through developing and applying educational innovations. For defining the state of art of the study, a systematic literature analysis takes place. It encompasses university competitiveness and educational innovations for achieving university competiveness. The results of the study are: (1) identification, classification and categorization of innovations applied in universities, (2) identification, classification and categorization of elements and measures for university competitiveness and (3) identification of the importance of educational innovations for universities.
