Abstract

In this paper the authors investigate a connection between the students’ creativity styles, their creative products, and their motivation for creative work. The experimental study was conducted in the domain of IT education, within the course in computer simulation at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade. First, the student’s creativity styles were analyzed using a standardized questionnaire. Then, they were assigned to do a creative task: to create a short 3D animation on a specific topic. Their creative projects were evaluated by a group of experts and also by a wider public via the Facebook page. Finally, the students were asked to report their attitudes and motivations for working on this type of tasks. Results show that there are individual differences in students’ creativity styles, and point out the correlations between specific creativity styles and the objectively assessed results of students’ creative work. Finally, the results show correlations between creativity styles and students’ motivation for creative work. The obtained results can be used as guidelines for improving the learning process by inspiring creativity and by providing personalized learning based on creativity styles.
