New Perspectives in Science Education

The presentation of the data and the results of research or statistical analysis is fundamental for the distribution, dissemination and socialization of current knowledge. However, we need a scientific education style that allows interdisciplinary relations between scientists and graphic designers, which determines an adequate way to present the results and impact at a communicative level in the social network environments and interest groups of our research. . An adequate data visualization format also influences the identification of new analyzes and interpretations of information, in such a way that it is a useful tool in the formation of a scientific culture at all levels. The development with the visualization of data and information can impact in an innovative way from the presentation of the sillabus of the subjects, through the aesthetics of the elaboration of research reports, to the mechanisms of presentation of results in different media platforms. All this leads to think of new profiles of scientists who take advantage of new technologies, advances in graphic design to communicate their progress and results. On the other hand, there is an additional contribution of data visualization and is to understand it in itself as an art form. Undoubtedly, this dimension favors the dialogue between science and humanities and generates more strengthened debates when analyzing a set of data. In terms of reflexivity, the researcher's position and its aesthetic dimension are enriched. The work highlights pedagogical aspects to take into account to work on the visualization of scientific information and support the importance of strengthening a visual hermeneutics within scientific education.
