EDUBRIDGE: An AI-Supported Interdisciplinary Education Model for Innovations in Science Teaching

Selma Alhan, Borsa İstanbul Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey)

Abstract

This study introduces EDUBRIDGE, an AI-supported interdisciplinary education model designed to enrich science teaching through micro-learning, digital ethics, and adaptive learning pathways. The model responds to the increasing need for student-centered and technology-integrated practices in secondary school science education. EDUBRIDGE provides flexible and personalized learning environments where students interact with short, focused micro-learning modules, interdisciplinary tasks, and AI-enhanced feedback systems. These modules incorporate simulations, automated content generation, and instant formative assessment tools, enabling students to better connect abstract scientific concepts with real-life applications. The model was implemented with secondary school students through structured activities combining science, mathematics, digital literacy, and ethical AI awareness. A mixed-method approach was adopted to evaluate its effectiveness. Quantitative results from pre- and post-tests showed measurable increases in students' conceptual understanding and ability to solve interdisciplinary problems. Qualitative reflections further demonstrated improved digital confidence and more responsible engagement with AI-supported technologies. The findings suggest that EDUBRIDGE is a scalable, practical framework that supports both teachers and students in integrating AI tools meaningfully into science education. It contributes to contemporary educational innovation by offering a future-oriented learning design that strengthens students’ analytical thinking, creativity, and digital citizenship.
