Kazuyoshi Nakai is a Japanese Chief Adviser of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) assigned to the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education in Zambia for the implementation of Technical Cooperation Project on Strengthening Teachers’ Performance and Skills (STEPS).
He obtained Education Bachelor and Masters degree in Japan and completed PhD program on Educational Leadership and Management in the Philippines. His expertise areas are science teaching method especially for basic and high schools and teacher training through lesson study as well as evaluation of educational programs.
After working as a science teacher at junior high school in Japan, he worked for technical cooperation programs under JICA in several countries such as Solomon Islands, Philippines, Kenya and Zambia for more than 20 years. He is currently working with Zambian colleagues at the Ministry of Education for enhancing in-service training of science and mathematics teachers through lesson study practice based on his experience in Japan.
