Benson Banda is currently a Principal Education Officer at National Science Centre with the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education in Zambia.
He is the Chief Editor of newly launched “Zambia Journal for Teachers’ Professional Growth”. He is a holder of B.Sc (Education) from the University of Zambia (1995) and a Masters degree in Education Policy from Hiroshima University, Japan (2011)
He is very active in mathematics and science education research. He has participated in a lot of international seminars and symposiums where he made presentations on mathematics and science education as well as teacher training including practice of lesson study. He also took a crucial role when he was Senior Education Standards Officer for Natural Science at Central Province on the introduction and effective implementation of lesson study activities of in-service teachers at schools.
Currently Benson Banda is the chair of the SMASE – Africa Association championing mathematics and science education in Africa.
